I create four charts in one document, each on different sheets. When I tried to export the document,  a message appeared saying the document is too large, followed by a fail operation message. I found in the community that this error has occurred before. A post titled “An error exists on this page (export to PDF fail)” from a month ago mentioned that it was resolved by the developers.

Hi @pichonis , thank you for your question. When documents are too large to export this error message will appear. The Community post below walks you through a workaround for this!

I suggest commenting on that thread if you have any questions about the process.

HI, I have a process flow so I cannot do it in tiles; I tried to create a new document, deleting images, but still, it indicates that the file is too large.  I did add some custom data to the nodes - will this cause a problem?

Hi @Gustav de Bruyn,

Thank you for responding in this Community thread!

Just to make sure that we are on the same page, please review our Export or print a Lucid document article from the Lucidchart Help Center. Let me know if you have any questions about how downloading/exporting your document should work.

Once you have reviewed this article, here are some specific things to check when exporting your document:

  • Try the export in a Chrome Incognito browsing session. This often improves performance by clearing your cache and cookies and disabling your extensions.

  • Sometimes issues like this can be related to internet connection speed or network security. Please try the export again on another network, ensuring that you are on a strong, stable connection.

  • Is the page that you are trying to export a Master Page? If so, it will be omitted from the downloaded version of your document and you will need to convert it into a page before exporting. To do this, left-click on your Master Page tab and select "Convert to Page".

If none of these tips help, would you mind sending me a temporary Document Support PIN for this document? This will help me take a closer look at what’s going on. This PIN is safe to post in this thread because it is only accessible by members of the Lucid support staff. You can find steps for generating a Support PIN in this Lucid Help Center article: Generate a Lucid Support PIN.

Hi @alison cheney,

Thanks for the response I looked that the article - all good. I have done this in the past and worked well.

We will not be able to use Chrome at my employer. I can try to get the browser cash if that could be an issue. As for internet, I doubt as this occurred over a few days and internet is solid on other applications. I also check it is not the Master Page.

Hi @Gustav de Bruyn,

Thank you for your response here!

In order to take a closer look at the issue you’re experiencing, I have a couple follow-up questions:

  • Are you seeing the error message, “An error exists on this page (export to PDF fail)'? A few other users in this thread have reported the same issue, so I wanted to check in.
  • Are you looking to include your custom data in that export, or are you just trying to export your process flow chart and finding that the file size is too large?

Could you please share a temporary Document Support PIN for this document? This will help me take a closer look at what’s going on. This PIN is safe to post in this thread because it is only accessible by members of the Lucid support staff. You can find steps for generating a Support PIN in this Lucid Help Center article: Generate a Lucid Support PIN.

Thank you for your help and patience!
