Disable markdown when typing?

Is there a way to disable markdown formatting? It’s making it fully impossible to complete this erd task. Every time I surround a word with underscores, it goes italics and the underscores disappear.

So store_location_id renders as storelocationid. Other apps with this behavior, ctrl-z removes the autoformat, leaving the desired “store_location_id”. Slightly annoying but workable.

In Lucidchart, ctrl-z removes the entire character as well as the formatting. So: store_location » type “>” » storelocation » ctrl-z » store_location. There’s no way out of the loop, to actually enter my column name to my erd.

Hi @ASmith13, thanks for your post, and apologies for the frustration. Can you please confirm what specific shape you’re typing in when this is happening? You mention ERDs - is it an ERD table? If you’re willing to share a screenshot, that would be very helpful!
