I'm building DeMarco style leveled data-flow-diagrams (DFD).
Is there a way to number the process bubbles automatically?
e.g. https://images.app.goo.gl/p2N1N4CYoC4paoLb9
In that example I may choose to for example build another DFD which expands the 3.0 bubble. That lower level DFD would then have bubbles with number such as 3.1 3.2 3.3 3.4 etc.
Hi Luc
Thanks for posting in the community. Unfortunately there is not presently a way to number the process bubbles automatically in Lucidchart. If you would like to promote this idea to the development team please add the idea and your use case for it to the feature request form. Thanks!
Hi!
Good news! While numbering the process boxes on a flowchart with numbers such as 3.1 3.2 3.3 etc. is not possible there is a way to number process boxes using numbers 1 2 3 etc. using conditional formatting and formulas. For more information on how to do this check out our Auto-Number your Flowchart Community post.
Great news and I'm impressed to keep track of the request to be able to notify of the new feature.
I do hope it turns out to be a popular feature. Then maybe the lower level siblings can inherit numbering from parents.
