As we evaluate the options for diagramming tools and Confluence the question has been asked re the degree of integration. It is believed that for tools such as Gliffy the diagram is part of the actual Confluence document. For Lucidchart the diagram is incorporated into the Confluence document as a link. And not a URL link but a proprietary format. One of our core architectural tenets is to drive to simplicity in every aspect of our ecosystem. If we choose Lucidchart will we have two document sources to manage?

Hi John

Thanks for posting in the community! With the Confluence integration you can embed a Lucid document within a Confluence page and the Lucid document is viewable and editable that Confluence page. Since it is innately a Lucid document the Lucid documents that are integrated with Confluence will need to be initially created and associated with a Lucid account. For more information on the functionality of this feature please review this Help Center article

Additionally any Gliffy files inserted into a published Confluence page or added as an attachment to a page can be converted into Lucidchart files within Confluence. To learn more about how to convert Gliffy to Lucidchart in Confluence please review this Help Center article
