Cannot move or clone number icons from Shapes library

When I add a number icon from the Shapes library to a diagram, it cannot be moved. Nor can I option-drag it to make a cloned copy. I can select and delete them, but cannot move them. This behavior only seems to affect the Number Icons.

I am NOT using any form of conditional formatting. I have not locked the icons. I am not using Layers.

This behavior is recent; up until today, these icons behaved like other shapes. I am able to move and clone other icons and shapes. But not the Number Icons.

I’ve even tried closing and reopening the Lucidchart document to see if there was a memory glitch. But so far, nothing seems to work. How can I move a Number Icon?

Hi @Rafael Olivas, thanks for posting in the Lucid Community! Happy to help here.

Would you mind confirming that this Number Icons shape library is the one you’re using?

I’m unable to recreate the behavior you described. Are you grouping the number icons with your shapes by chance?

If you’re still seeing this issue, could you share a temporary Document Support PIN for this document? This will help me take a closer look at what’s going on. This PIN is safe to post in this thread because it is only accessible by members of the Lucid support staff. You can find steps for generating a Support PIN in this Lucid Help Center article: Generate a Lucid Support PIN

Hello Ambar D. Yes, I can confirm that is exactly the Number Icons that is behaving “unnaturally.” I am NOT grouping a Number Icon when I use it. I simply drag it into the diagram, where it used to behave normally. However, now once I drag the icon in I cannot reposition it. Oddly I can continue to edit the number and even change its color--that’s normal. I can select it (with the normal bounding box appears), but I cannot drag it anywhere. Here’s a screen shot of the icon, after selection as I try to move it.

Hi @Rafael Olivas, thanks for getting back to me with that additional information.

I’ve been able to reproduce this issue, and I believe you have identified a bug. I have reported this to our development team.

In the meantime as a workaround, I recommend using your keyboard arrows to move the shapes instead of dragging the shape with your cursor/mouse. In the GIF below, you can see that I’m unable to move the shape with my mouse by dragging as usual, but using the keyboard arrows allows me to successfully move the shape around. While not ideal, I hope this helps in the meantime!

I apologize for any disruption this may cause, and I will update this thread with any new information about a fix.

Please follow along on this thread for updates, and post any additional questions or concerns below.

Thank you Ambar D for the workaround tip: using the cursor keys to nudge a Number Icon. That does seem to work. I think for me, since I’m using more than a handful and I want to align them fairly precisely, I may want for the bug fix. Unless I can’t wait, LOL.

Thank you @Rafael Olivas for providing your Document support PIN! I’ve added this information to the report for our developers.

I’m happy to hear that the workaround appears to work for you, but I certainly understand why using your keyboard arrows may not be ideal as you mentioned, and I apologize for the disruption this may be causing to your workflow. I will update this thread with any new information about a fix.

In the meantime, feel free to follow along here or let me know if you have any additional questions!
