I'm unable to print any of my flow charts using the "Print" option.
When I get to the print options I click Print the dialog closes "Generating file" comes up then "Processing complete". Then nothing.
I'm using Chrome.
I've tried removing the extensions (which I saw in someone else's question) but its still not working
Help
Hi Ray thanks for posting in the Lucidchart Community and apologies for the trouble!
There are a couple of issues that we consistently come up against with printing; do you mind trying these steps and seeing if they clear up the issue?
- Try the print in a Chrome Incognito browsing session. This often improves performance by clearing your cache and cookies and disabling your extensions.
- Please also try printing from a different internet connection to make sure that there is no network interference.
- Sometimes diagrams that are imported from other sources (such as Visio Draw.io or others) have trouble printing. Was this diagram imported? If so copying and pasting the contents of the document into a new Lucidchart document can sometimes resolve printing issues.
For a complete walkthrough of the most common solutions around printing, see our Troubleshooting: Export or print a document article from the help center.
Hope this helps!
Hi Eric
Thanks for the response
I had read on several other posts about the Incognito and the extension issues with PDF read which I tried but no luck - I've deleted all extensions and still no difference
"printing from a different internet connection"
I have one computer and one printer and everything is plugged directly in so not sure how to change this and even if it worked from somewhere else (I'm here and not there!)
Any other suggestions?
Ray
Thanks for testing this Ray! The easiest way to test things while connected to an alternative network is to use a mobile hotspot.
Did you ever solve this? I'm having the same issue.
Hi @kaitlyn s thanks for posting in the community and continuing this thread!
Just to confirm were you able to try the steps listed in Eric's response? A Chrome Incognito browsing session often helps resolve issues related to printing. If those steps didn't help resolve the issues please let us know and we will be more than happy to help investigate further.
I have the exact same problem in Chrome. I tried printing in MS Edge and it works. I haven't isolated what is wrong in Chrome but it clearly is something related to the browser.
Hi @james h104
Thank you for posting in the Community and continuing this thread.
To confirm were you able to try the steps listed in Eric's original post when using Chrome? A Chrome Incognito browsing session often helps resolve issues related to printing. If those steps didn't help resolve the issues please reply on this thread and we will be more than happy to help investigate further!
Liz I tried Chrome incognito and it worked. It pulled up the Windows print modal window after completing the processing and generation steps. This was after confirming that it failed again in a regular (not incognito) Chrome window.
Hi @james h104
Thanks for following up! I am happy to hear that it is working in an Incognito window. To improve performance in a standard window you can clear your cache and cookies for all time as well as disabling any extensions.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
