Hi

The default behaviour in LucidChart when selecting an area is that any shape selected in that area whether it is wholly enclosed in the selected area or not is added to the selection. Is there a way to make it so that only wholly enclosed shapes in the area are selected? i.e. shapes that are only partially enclosed in the area are not selected?

Thanks.

Rob.

Hi Rob

Thanks for posting in the community! Yes it is possible to select only certain shapes. To do so hold down your Control (Ctrl) key while you left click on the objects you want to be selected. This way you will be able modify format and style only those shapes.

Note that in this example above it is not possible to select only those two shapes by left clicking and dragging. For more information on working with shapes feel free to take a look at this Modify Format and Style Shapes article. Hope this helps!
