Add text/label to icon/image bottom

I want to add a label to the bottom of the image. I have tried to accomplish this with grouping however this results in bad resizing behaviour. Specifically when I expand the shape vertically the space between the text label and the image also grows. Thus I start with this image+label:

And I end up with this image+label:

This is trivial to do with diagrams.net given it's one of the default built-in shapes. But I'd like to use LucidChart because it has better real-time collaboration features.

Thanks for reaching out on Lucidchart Community! Unfortunately the only way I can think to connect the text underneath an object is exactly as you described with grouping. Would you mind adding this functionality idea to our product feedback area of the community? These are sent directly to our development team for their consideration.
