Question

What are you doing to the UI?

Seems like you did this in lucid spark about a year ago. Trying to stream line things while getting rid of every kind of functionality the product had. On the new biggest update it offered just seemingly random shapes to choose from. No distinguishable quality's just square after square forcing people to hover over the block. That hover has a lapse in time, I don't know how you work but I tend to like to be efficient. Being forced to hover is the biggest step backwards. Whoever's idea it is to hide all the functionality of the product behind micro breaks is wrong. The only thing that was accomplished with this stream lining is now there's nothing on the screen. No words just shapes. YaY I’m back to being six years old in the sand box just playing with shapes. X.x. Do you not think our first desire is to read what shape is different from the others? Now that I've finally figure out what shape I actually do want for my project and lemme go up to the tool bar ( where it should be ) and change the I don't know font, color, or size….. Oh Its another different popup menu that just floats around. Great. It really feels like this is the result of people trying to justifying their jobs not try to make a quality product. “ Hide all the stuff you need and make the screen…...BIGGER” - Director probably.

Hi @RustyD,

Thank you for posting in the Lucid Community. I completely understand the frustration and disruption this has caused in your workflow. I have shared your feedback directly with our Product teams. They are regularly reviewing feedback in this space of the community, so your insights are incredibly helpful as they continue building.

Our Product Teams recently made it easier to use Document tools by allowing users to display shape names without needing to hover. This can be accessed via the hamburger menu under View -> Shapes in Document tools -> Icons and text. Please refer to the Gif below showing these steps.

We also have plans in the very near future to bring the names of shapes back to search.

When you mention, the “seemingly random shapes to choose from”, could you provide a bit more context as to where you were finding these random shapes being surfaced on your canvas? Are you referring to the default shape libraries we provide in document tools? Could you provide a screenshot of these specific shapes so we can look into this further?

Thank you for your sharing your feedback here and please let us know if you have any additional questions in this thread!

Four menus deep, brilliant.

The team got in a room and went “lets give the client less information upfront and let the end user search for what they want four layers deep!”

What is going on over there?

The big update you buys just came out with….. what else could I be talking about…...

I looked in my library and it was all just seemingly random shapes with no text attached to it. how could that be a good idea….. obviously the backlash has been pretty quick and it has now changed.
