Hey there, I’ve used lucid and other chart applications on and off over the years. But I never stopped to learn some best practices. I design and build integrations between enterprise applications mainly but small things too. There are so many flowchart types and I wanted to focus on my area abit to start. I’ve been looking for any medium of learning experience and what types of charts I should start with. From landscape diagrams to the details of my apis.

Any assistance is very much appreciated,

Thanks,

Bob

Bob,

What a thoughtful question! There are many places to get started, but I’ll point you to a few and then we can discuss from there how there are working for you.

  1. Check out our template library by logging into Lucid > +New > Lucidchart > Create from Template. You can search specific examples like “enterprise architecture” or “system landscape”. The technical systems section may also interest you.
  2. Visit our Lucid Training Labs for courses.
  3. Explore our Developer Portal for information on the APIs Lucid provides.
  4. There are lots of Advanced Features that can beef up your technical diagrams (open up a Lucidchart diagram and click ‘Import Data’ in the bottom left to explore. Here is an example of a systems diagram that can update in real time to show live traffic between systems using Data Linking and Conditional Formatting.
