Hello Lucid Developers!
We’re happy to announce some exciting updates to our Developer Platform, enhancing your experience and capabilities.
Private Publishing
Users can now publish apps and integrations to share directly with their teams without needing approval by Lucid or having to post publicly on the Lucid marketplace.
Privately-published apps will still be downloaded via the Lucid Marketplace but will only be discoverable by those who you have made the app available to through direct invitation. Otherwise, the app will be completely invisible to all other Lucid users.
For a deep dive into how to get started with Private Publishing, check out our detailed guide in our Developer Documentation.
Org Chart APIs
We have just released our new Org Chart API endpoint. An org chart is a data-backed shape used to visualize organizational structures.
The Org Chart API will allow you to create charts much more quickly by importing them from data rather than creating them manually.
Technically, we support up to 4,000 shapes for the endpoint, but we recommend limiting your imports to 2,000-2,500 for the best experience. When documents have over 3,000 shapes, they begin to slow down significantly.
To learn more about creating Org Charts from data, check out our documentation.
Developer Documentation Now Hosted on lucid.readme.io (New Look!) 👀
Take a look at our new Developer Docs!
Improvements include:
- More expanded search and easier navigation throughout documentation.
- Ability to test endpoints directly on the web page with common programming languages.
Community highlight 🌟
Lastly, we’ve picked one stand-out Community post from user @cfitz related to Org Chart import. @cfitz ran into an issue that was returning “Standard Import API error message: Invalid shape type.” As you’re creating your org charts, remember that you can’t use the standard shapes and instead need to use the object “dataBackedShape”.
The Lucid for Developers Community is your place for asking questions and troubleshooting with peers when working with our APIs.
We would love to hear how you leverage these new features to elevate your projects. Leave a comment to share your use-case and feel free to post any questions in the thread below!
Thanks for making it this far, and happy building!
