Is it possible to create new smart containers or customize the current ones?  I was hoping to create a set of smart containers with custom data values and controls.

Hi @Richard Watson, thanks for posting in the Lucid Community! After you have added Smart Containers to the document, you can modify them as you continue to edit your document.

Just to make sure that we are on the same page, please review our Smart Containers article from the Lucid Help Center, and let me know if you have any questions about the set up or intended functionality. Let me know if you have any further questions!

Apologies, I should be clearer.  I am already using the standard Containers that are available in the default library.  I am interested in creating a set of custom Container-type shapes like other standard shapes.

Is this possible?

The developer resources only seem to cover creating custom shapes and shape libraries, but not how to create custom Container-type shapes?

Hi @Richard Watson, thanks for adding that context! I’ve moved your post into our Lucid for Developers Community to get you additional support with Lucid's APIs, as we have some API experts who can better assist you. I appreciate your help and patience!

Hi Richard,

Thank you for exploring custom shape functionality. Unfortunately, custom shapes don’t support features that are unique to containers, so it’d be difficult to build a new set of smart containers.

There are numerous features that Dynamic Tables and Smart Containers support that might work. They both support custom data fields and linked data. Could we get any specifics on what you’d like the smart containers to do?
