Dear all,

I want to create a program in C# that will take a json file as input and it will convert it into  flow diagram in lucidchart. From what I have read, I will need to obtain an API token for my lucid-chart Pro account. But there is no option for API in my account.  Under my plan it says the following “ Currently on a legacy plan. Modifying your plan will forfeit your legacy pricing“

I am completely new to using an API token  , so the first question is how do I get an API token?

Good day @pdNeuro,

You can use our developer documentation to assist. I searched for “API token” and found this section of the documentation for you. Let me know if that is useful.

Hi Shantel,

according to the link you provided I need a client_id. How do I find it?

I don’t see the developer tools button somewhere in my projects or user settings as mentioned here. How do I enable them?

Also, when I try to create a client as mentioned here I get this message “ To unlock the Developer Portal, contact your admin for the developer role assignment”.

Also I used this link and I get this message  “

You're trying to access a premium feature. Upgrade to enjoy Advanced Integrations and much more.

Thank you!

Hi @pdNeuro

Thanks for reaching out to Lucid Support! It seems you’re unable to access Developer Tools because they’re not included in your current subscription level. You can view your subscription details in your Account Settings.

The Developer Portal and API access are available only with Team or Enterprise subscription plans. To enable these features, an upgrade would be required.

For more details, please review our Lucidchart Plans article, which outlines the features available with each plan. If you’re ready to upgrade, you can visit our Upgrade Your Lucid Account page.

If you have any other questions or need assistance, don’t hesitate to let us know—we’re here to help.
