I am working on a swimlane map in which I will be handing off to a group that will be maintaining it in Visio going forward (non-negotiable). In exploring ways to make a template I use more Visio-friendly, I discovered that a lot of the swimlane maps shapes are transferring over as images instead of editable shapes.
Does anyone have recommendations regarding shapes I can use to be more edit-friendly in Visio?

Native Visio doesn't offer direct editing of swimlane shapes like those you create in Lucidchart.
When you import a Lucidchart document containing swimlanes into Visio, they often get converted into static images which are not editable within Visio itself.
Kindly try other possibilities for your requirement.
