Hi,
Having tried more than 15 whiteboard apps, I'm going to give some ideas.
- First of all, it is very nice that creating a sticky note can be easily done with a double click, but it is a problem that we cannot put the line we draw where we want when the line connections feature is turned on. For this, you can look directly at Mural. There, this can be done easily, or in Miro, at least snap off when you hold down CTRL.
- The feature that we do not see in almost any Whiteboard application, but we do not understand why it is not put in, is to change the shortcut keys. I'm not sure if this is really difficult, but every company and user has their own purpose and style of use. When customizations are not given enough, even if you like the application, you either have to give up on it or have to tolerate features that you cannot customize yourself. For example, as a bad example, even the background color cannot be changed in Figjam.
- This is probably a difficult thing to do, but let me talk about it. When you activate the dark mode extension on Miro and Conceptboard via the browser, all content with white backgrounds on the board turns black. In this way, people who like white and light colors can work without using the dark mode extension, and those who do not like it can work by turning on dark mode extension. When you open the extension on Lucidspark, there is no change other than toolbars. This makes it especially difficult to work at night. (I'm aware that the background color can change, that's not what I'm talking about)
- I think one of the most special aspects of Lucidspark is the Visual Activities part. As far as I know, there is no place in any other app where you can properly poll in this way. In Figjam, on the other hand, there is an area where users can add Widgets. Users had added quite useful things here. It would be nice to see something similar in Lucidspark.
- Is there no embed code or did I not see it? Many whiteboards offer to view the board with embed code. Miro even gives you the option to edit.
- Almost all other applications allow direct line drawing with a single click, but in Lucidspark we have to click L every time and then choose from the toolbar. At least once we chose, we could be allowed to line as much as we wanted until we canceled. I think the board should work as simple and effortless as possible, especially when we invite users who have never used such applications.
- It's definitely being considered, but let me talk about it. Mural, Miro, Conceptboard, and Stormboard support extensions to Microsoft Office applications. As one of the best whiteboard apps on the market right now, it might be good to bring these supports.
- It is also the only board that supports the Mp4 format in Figjam. Mp3 format is not supported anywhere. After all, these whiteboard applications are used by many different sectors, I think it would be very nice to support such standardized formats. Although it is not an online whiteboard, Obsidian is unfortunately the only software with this feature. Mural, on the other hand, allows you to drop many formats on the board as a download link, even if it does not support it. I think this is a very nice feature.
- I have to say that it is expensive compared to its competitors in terms of price. Compared to the Business or Team packages, Lucidspark is at least 50 percent more expensive than its most expensive alternative. In fact, unless you specifically search for the pricing of Lucidspark, the price of the packages that it is bundled with Lucidchart is revealed, and we could not choose to buy only Lucidspark on that page, as if you had to buy a bundle in this way. And seeing a price of 60 USD for whiteboard there may cause many users or companies to give up from the beginning. In my opinion, you should even show on the bundle page that the price of Lucidspark is more affordable, and you can try to reduce the Team price of Lucidspark to at least around 20-25 USD.
In my opinion, Lucidspark is a well-thought-out app with nice features compared to other whiteboards. If even some of the simple things I've mentioned are taken care of, we'll consider moving to Lucidspark. I would like to see Lucidspark's share of the market increase. I hope my advice will be useful. If I think of other things, I'll add them later.
Kind regards.
