Hello.
When using the dynamic table feature in Lucidspark the text orientation for a row is sideways/vertical. To resolve this I created a regular table instead so I can type the text horizontal in the first cell of each row. But now I cannot rearrange/reorder rows or columns- that’s exclusive to the dynamic table feature. I go back to the dynamic table feature but now I cannot type text directly into a cell like in the regular table.
I don’t want it to be a trade-off situation. I would like to rearrange/reorder rows and columns in the regular table.
Thank you for your time. Bye.
Hi, thanks for this idea! We encourage anyone else who’s interested in this to upvote this post and share any additional details about your use case or what you’d like to see in this experience. For more information about how we manage feedback in this community, please take a look at this post:
There are two issues with the dynamic table feature: 1) the text orientation for a custom row is vertical 2) we cannot type directly in a cell
There is one issue with the regular table feature: 1) we cannot rearrange/reorder rows and columns
Which of the dynamic table issues will the help resolve?
I am currently using the table feature in FigJam. I can type directly inside a cell. I can rearrange rows and columns. I can create row headers where the text is horizontal.
I look forward to doing this in Lucidspark.
Thanks again!
There is a text box option and we can convert the sticky note to the text box but the issue is that the sticky note is created by default within the dynamic table and you have to convert it to a text box every time. This is different for the regular table feature where we can type in each cell by default. The only thing missing for the regular table feature is the ability to rearrange rows and columns.
The other reason I am looking forward to these abilities in Lucidspark is because I am trying to replicate and possibly replace the table database view in Notion.
In Notion every table database view is stacked from the top of the page down to the bottom. But in Lucidspark we have complete freedom how to lay them out. We can have tables going across in a row or we can even create a grid of four tables. We can even zoom out to see all the tables and get context.
Has the solution been introduced? Is it the “none” option below the “custom row” option for dynamic tables?
The header for rows has been removed at the expense of not being able to create rows at all.
Using a regular table is faster. We can type directly in each cell whereas in the dynamic table feature it uses sticky notes by default then we have to select them all before converting them to text boxes. In a regular table we can press tab to move to the next cell to the right until it moves to the next row. In the dynamic table feature pressing tab creates another sticky note.
All that is missing for the regular table feature is the ability to rearrange/reorder rows and columns.
Hi
I’ll also take the opportunity to clarify a small bit of behavior - as you mentioned, the Dynamic Table tool allows you to choose the basis for the rows via this dropdown.

Custom Row is what allows you to enter a text label, and None removes rows entirely, including the header.
I hope this helps! Thank you again for the detailed feedback. Please let us know if you have any additional questions!
