Organisational groups change over time within a business whether due to restructuring or mergers and acquisitions etc. Lucid needs the ability to reparent an organizational group to a new parent and keep existing members rather than having to create a new group and then manually move across all users within that org group

Groups are not necessarily created in the correct order either….e.g a group may be created only to have the broader department it is a part of brought onto lucid later on…..
being able to re-parent would help with this scenario as well.
