I need to keep an easily embedded offline copy of my network diagrams (just in case!) and I need to preserver external URLs which link to other internal tools.

Hi @IFR, thanks for this post! Can you help me understand more about your use case? What exactly do you mean by embedded offline copy? Are you referring to a downloaded version of your document (SVG?) that you can load outside of the Lucidchart editor without internet? And you want that downloaded version to be clickable so that you can access the links you’ve included?

Hello @Micah and thanks for responding so quickly!

Yes, I’m looking for the ability to store the complete diagrams offline but preserve all links / URLs that are associated with various objects in the diagrams.  for example, a site object will link to other local documents for that site, or a circuit will link to our internal monitoring system..

Should we lose internet, or your site be unavailable we would use these exported versions as part of our DR and Business Continuity processes.   SVG Export seems like the approach most likely to satisfy these needs but I’m open to others ;)

Hi @IFR, thanks for this detail! I understand. I think a PDF may also suit your needs here, as it retains any links associated with the objects in your diagram once exported. You can learn more about link behavior here and about exporting to PDF here! Take a look, and let me know if there’s more you’re looking for.

No pdf is not a solution, because it is one single multipage document. What we want is a browsable chart in a browser window. For that an svg for every sheet is needed. While links to other sheets of the same lucid file are changed in the svg, so that they link (relative link) to the corresponding svg file of the sheet. Links to other sources like external websites shall be retained.

Hi @karsten.walther, thanks for your comment here with additional context and feedback. To clarify- are you hoping for a way to create backup copy of all your Lucid documents in a format that can be opened in a browser, with all links preserved?
