Would it be possible to have a shape library created to the Archimate standard?

https://pubs.opengroup.org/architecture/archimate3-doc/apdxa.html

Hey Erick

Thank you for posting in the Lucid Community! Absolutely you can import shapes to create a custom Shape Library. I have included a Lucid Help Desk article concerning Shape Libraries to help you out along the way. Please let me know if you have any questions on intended functionality!

Hope this helps--Cheers!

Hi

I have created a GitHub repository with all the Archimate 3.0 symbols as SVG files. These files can be imported into Lucid.

https://github.com/marcelomg/archimate-symbols

P.S. Lucid can you guys import these files and make them available to everyone?

Hey Marcelo

Thank you for keeping this conversation going! I was able to test and it does seem like all of these shapes are able to be successfully imported into Lucid. We will keep this thread available for users that may be looking for these shapes--thank you for posting that! You can check out more information on Custom Shape Libraries here

Adding these shapes to the default Lucid library seems like a great idea--if you’re willing to share, we’d love to hear more details about your use case or what you’d like to see in this experience within this thread. I’ve also converted this post to an idea so that it’s visible to others within the Product Feedback section of the community - from here, they can upvote it and add details of their own.

Finally, for more information on how Lucid manages feedback via this community, take a look at this post:

Thanks again for posting the link to these shapes and submitting your idea. Cheers!

That's a fantastic initiative.... but remember that not only the symbols/shapes are important the archimate modelling language itself is the one that have to be "implemented" ..

Thanks for your amazing work!

Marcos

To import svg shapes is one thing; to work with shapes is different. It would be necessary for someone to make the shapes resizable without resizing icons inside. Each element should have a writeable text field; some relationships are not allowed in between them.

Hi @dalibor m thank you for continuing this thread and sharing your thoughts on this. I can certainly understand how additional customisations may be required for these shapes and icons.

If you or anyone else reading this thread would like to see these shapes added to Lucid, we encourage you to upvote this post and share any additional use case details in this thread.

Thanks again for sharing your feedback!

Hi Lucid Managers

I filled out the feature request back in October 2022. Is that something you can see? I never heard anything from Lucid in that regard. Also do you need more people to fill out the request form?

Thanks.

Hi Marcelo

Thanks for adding to this thread and thanks for sending a feature request to our Product Development Team -- they surely do appreciate getting direct feedback from product users like you!

Please bear in mind that when you file the feedback request form you will not receive a message back or be contacted by our team. If you would like to know more about what happens when you file a feature request I'd recommend to giving the following Community post a read: What happens to my feedback?

This post provides an overview of the process and also what to expect as well as valuable resources regarding the most recent feature implementations.

Let us know if you have questions!

Hi everyone

Thank you for your feedback! Lucid has now released an Enterprise Architecture shape library. Now teams can work together using this defined library to enhance collaboration and continuity.

You can access this new shape library by following these steps:

  1. Click More shapes from the left panel of a Lucidchart document to open the shape library

  2. Search “Enterprise Architecture” or scroll down to find it

  3. Select the checkbox

  4. Click Use selected shapes

Share how you’re using this shape library in the thread!

The Enterprise Architecture Library is a great start for Enterprise Architecture (TOGAF based).  May I kindly request the inclusion of the rest or the Archimate model?  Motivation and Strategy in particular?  And Groups?

Thank you!

Absolutely, @JohnR, thanks for this additional detail!

Keep us posted when the strategy layer is added

@Efe Absolutely! We’ll do so via this thread.

Hello,

Any updates regarding Strategic and motivation layers components ?

Best regards

Ismael

Hi @Ismael and @kthiagarajan, thank you for adding to this thread!

Unfortunately, at this time I do not have an update to provide regarding this request. I can assure you that your feedback is heard, and our product teams do regularly review feedback within threads just like these in the Product Feedback space of the community. Thank you for taking the time to let us know what you’re hoping to see!
