Is there a way of importing live currency exchange data into a chart?

I would like to open the chart and begin each discussion/revision session with current accurate currency data. If there isn’t a simple way of automating this, has anyone achieved this another way?

Hi @Alex A101, thank you for posting in the community! While it is possible to link data to a Lucidchart document using our data-linking feature, importing live currency exchange data unfortunately is not currently supported in Lucid.

If you have a Google Sheet that’s automated with updated current currency data, you might be able to create something similar by importing this data into Lucidchart using data-linking and refresh the data set. As updates to your Google Sheet spreadsheet will automatically sync to Lucidchart every 30 seconds. Please note that data-linking is only available to Enterprise accounts.

However, we’re very interested in your feedback and committed to continually improving our products. If you’re willing to share, we’d love to hear more details about your use case or what you’d like to see in this experience within this thread. I’ve also converted this post to an idea so that it’s visible to others within the Product Feedback section of the community - from here, they can upvote it and add details of their own.

Hi @Leianne C

Thanks for your reply, explanation and excellent suggestion. My intention was to be able to use live currency data in a project planning model to deliver closer reality to the project cashflow.

Having live data obviously would be an interesting feature. Although in reality having a slider for percentage change of the exchange rate would be a more useful feature. As you say, having that in a spreadsheet feeding Lucidchart may well be the easier and more useful approach,  as other variables could also be changed to reflect potential future scenarios.
