Hello. There is an ability in the visual notes features to add different types of lists to your notes. The issue is that the notes are pinned to the board interface and can’t be added anywhere onto the board which means we can’t add these types of lists directly onto the board. With physical sticky notes and a black sharpie marker we can add these types of lists no problem whenever we get something off the top of our head quickly. With the digital sticky notes in Lucidspark we cannot though since the option is not there on the menu bar. I double-checked in Lucidchart to see if the list options were there and they were not. So the list options exist in Lucidspark. We can use them on physical sticky notes but not the digital sticky notes in Lucidspark. I am looking for a combination of the two. Thank you for your time. Bye.

The idea of creating lists on a sticky note with their limited space versus downloading a document app and doing it there with their slash command menu options creates peace of mind. Some people find facing a black page daunting and to make matters worse the digital page now is infinite. To rectify this the sticky notes in Lucidspark can provide a peaceful alternative. The issue is that what we can do on physical sticky notes (make lists) should transition over to the physical sticky notes.
Here are some examples of what it could look like. Bullet lists, numbered lists, todo/checkbox lists…
I double-checked in Lucidchart and they do have the numbered, dashed and bullet list options. But since these are the most basic and universal list options in comparison to the advanced/specialty options like hearts and disced I would like to see them and use them in Lucidspark. This approach would be in the same vain as having fill colours for sticky notes in both Lucidspark and Lucidchart but the advanced/speciality feature of Styles stays in Lucidchart.
Hi @patrickpereira1988, thank you for leaving your product feedback regarding sticky notes! I can certainly understand why having the option to customize sticky notes in Lucidspark and Lucidchart is helpful.
To clarify, in Lucidspark you can customize font, text size and color, text placement, and you can make bulleted or numbered lists as shown below.
Using the options listed above, you can create something similar to the images you included physical sticky notes.
I can certainly understand why you would want the same list style options available in Lucidchart to be available in Lucidspark. While not ideal, here is a workaround that you can try to achieve that. First, start by adding your list style to your sticky note in Lucidchart. Then switch into edit in Lucidspark. Whatever list options that you’ve chosen in Lucidchart will transfer over into Lucidspark, and you can copy/paste those list styles into other sticky notes.
Thank you again for your detailed feedback regarding sticky notes! Let me know if you have any additional questions about what I’ve shared above, happy to help.

Thank you for your suggestions. I tried the text placement option in Lucidspark. The consequence is that even if I align the text to the top left corner the text will start shrinking the more I add. The sticky note doesn’t maintain its text size and just get longer the more I add. This is a benefit I am looking forward to with digital sticky notes compared to physical sticky notes- the more you add the sticky note will magically get longer so you can continue. I can align the text and it will maintain its text size if I use the text feature instead. The text feature will also get magically longer for each new line I add. The consequence is you can’t change the background but only the text color. That means to mimic a sticky note you have to add a frame then change it to same sticky note color. But for each new line you add it will overlap the bottom of the frame so you have to repeatedly adjust it. For each solution a new problem is created. I tried using the sticky notes in Lucidchart. The text maintains its size but at a certain point when you create new lines they will extend beyond the bottom of the sticky note hanging off. You can even move the sticky note with these extra lines hanging off too. You have to adjust the sticky note to make it bigger to encompass these extra lines. The consequence is that you are now not maintaining its size and just making it longer but making the whole sticky note larger which defeats the point. So to have more lines you end up with these gigantic sticky notes. I use 3x3 or 4x4 or 4x6 physical post-it notes and would like to replace them with the digital sticky notes in Lucidspark. But I am looking for what is possible digitally but not physically with sticky notes.
This is what the sticky note looks like in Lucidchart when you add too many lines. The text size is solved in comparison to Lucidspark where it shrinks but now it overlaps the bottom. If I adjust the corner the whole sticky note will get bigger- length and width. I would like the sticky note to magically get longer once you reach the bottom while maintaining its width.
I found a workaround with the shapes feature in Lucidspark. But it comes with issues. Take the rectangle. Overlap it with a sticky note. Match the exact size of the sticky note. Match the color of the stick note as well. Take the shape off the sticky note. Now align the text in the shape to the top left corner. Start typing numbers or dashes using the keyboard. The bottom of the shape will magically extended compensating for each new line. Nothing hangs off the bottom. The text doesn’t shrink either. The issue is the for each new line you add a dash or a number and then add multiple lines of accompanying text there are these gaps in between.
My issues are with the web app on an iPad Pro using the Magic Keyboard. I switched to the web app using a MacBook Pro.
There are bullet and numbered list options for sticky notes, shapes and the text feature here but not in the web app for an iPad Pro. No dashed line option either or checkboxes which exist exclusively in the visual notes feature.
We can pull on the side of a sticky note here to adjust its width but not in the web app for an iPad Pro.
The text shrinks in both versions of the web app. It doesn’t matter if the text size is set to auto or you pick a number. It shrinks too much that its unreadable unless you zoom in. Since we can make a sticky note wider and longer by manually pulling on a corner what if you target the length and width individually when the user is typing in order to auto-create wider and longer sticky notes?
Hi @patrickpereira1988, thank you for responding with these additional details and feedback!
I can certainly understand how the sticky note features would be helpful to you. I’m sorry that you’re experiencing that inconsistent behavior with sticky notes on a MacBook vs iPad Pro.
This is the perfect place for your feedback to be reviewed by our product development team.

I would like these three options from Apple Notes introduced to the sticky notes feature along with the shapes and text features for the web app on an iPad Pro.
Creating a number list and a dotted list is available on the web app for a MacBook but iPad users wouldn’t know that without a MacBook. So iPad users don’t really need to switch to Lucidchart to use these list options when they are already available for the web app just not on the device they are using. Feature parity would be a better solution than either getting a MacBook or switching back and forth over and over again to Lucidchart every time you want to use a list option for a new sticky note or shape or text option.
Even when using the list options in the web app for Lucidspark and Lucidchart on a MacBook Pro it still doesn’t perform as expected and you have to correct its mistakes.
You switch to Lucidchart. You add a sticky note. You type Todo List. You align it to the top left corner. You press Shift+Return twice for good measure. You choose the bullet list option. The ToDo List title becomes part of the bullet list. The ToDo List title will also be converted to a dashed list and a numbered list. It doesn’t create any of the list options where the cursor is. So if you continue you have to go back to the ToDo List title, put the cursor at the beginning and press Delete to remove the list option in front then continue on with the actual list. I use 3x3, 4x4 and 4x6 physical post-it notes and I can do this properly with a sharpie marker but I can’t do it with the digital sticky notes in Lucidspark or Lucidchart. I would like to be able to do this so I can move from physical to digital without compromising.
