Hi Alex
Thanks for posting in the Community!
There isn't a straightforward way to set the default shapes for every document. If you create multiple page tabs within a document the same shape libraries will stay pinned but with completely different documents you would have to re-pin the ones you would like to be available.
What you could do however is pressing the "M" key on your keyboard to open the shape library once you have created a new document and check the box(s) associated with the libraries of your choice. This will enable them and they will therefore appear in your shape panel.
Another workaround would be for you to create a custom document with the properties that you want. Then go to your "My Documents" view select your document and choose "Convert to Template" from the right-hand document menu. Then when creating your document choose that template to start from and the shapes you used to create the template will automatically appear in your shape panel.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have questions!
OK Coumba - thank you very much for this response I'll give the workaround a try.
Hi Alex
Anytime!
If you have questions don't hesitate to ask here!
Hi Coumba This workaround works but it's a lot of work only to share a shape library. It would be really cool if if there was a personalized shaped area showing the libraries you choose or commonly use.
Hi Noga
Thanks for adding to this thread!
I understand your perspective and agree that it would be pretty handy to have such a feature. I have just passed on this feedback internally but I would recommend also adding your idea to our product feedback space. Ideas and discussed here are passed on to our Product Development Team for their consideration.
Thanks for your request!
Hi everyone we're excited to let you know that in Lucidchart you can now favorite a shape library by clicking the star to the right of its name. Any favorited libraries will automatically be opened in all future documents you create. For more details check out our Welcome to Lucidchart help center article. Thank you for sharing your feedback in the community!
