Hi!
Until recently double mouse click (left) was creating "Text" so I could type. Now it's creating a sticky note instead. Apparently I somehow changed this default setting and would like to get back to the "Text" appearing when I double-click. How could I do it? Thank you

Thanks for your comment in our community! With our beta of Universal Canvas being launched which allows you to seamlessly leverage the full power of the Lucid Suite the double-click feature was changed to add sticky notes so that double clicking performed the same function in both products. This feature is currently a test in progress so the change is not finalized. You can use this link to reset the double-click feature to insert text rather than sticky notes within your account.

If you would like continued updates feel free to check in on our Universal Canvas article. Please let me know if you have any further questions!

Wow! Worked like a magic! Thanks so much I really appreciate it it was very annoying for me. Thank you!!!

That's great! Happy to hear it's back to what works best for you!

I agree with savenko.el. I double-click on things a lot to edit text and I often miss the shape (not that young anymore) and get a sticky note. Annoying.

Suggest you leave the mouse alone and use a shortcut key to plunk down a sticky note. The mouse is a general purpose device common to all applications; sticky notes are used only by some applications.

Hi @paul w102 thank you for continuing this thread and taking the time to share feedback about this functionality. We're always looking for ways to improve our products and your feedback is the best way for us to do that. I've gone ahead and logged your feedback with our development team.

If you or anyone else reading this would like to share some additional feedback please feel free to comment on this post and we'll be sure to pass this feedback onto the relevant teams for their consideration. Cheers!

Paul the link is working. Yes it gets you to your Documents but it also resets that setting so just go to any of your documents after you clicked the link and do the double-click - should be text instead of a sticky note!

Unfortunately this does not work for me. I have desktop icons for each of my documents. The icons are links directly to my document pages bypassing the Home Page altogether. So I'm stuck getting sticky notes. I wish I could keep a finger on the Del key at all times.

Someone in the bowels of Software Development has commandeered a general purpose mouse function for a special function not universally used. I would think the original "Text" function is far more generally useful across the entire Lucid Suite than sticky note. More importantly it has the benefit of automatically disappearing if you don't use it. The sticky note requires you to actively delete it. I hope Lucid re-thinks this.

Hi Paul you should only need to click on the link once in any browser you use to switch the behaviour back.  As long as you have clicked on the link in the same web browser that the documents open in when you click on those shortcuts you should find that double clicking adds a text box. This applies whether you access them from the desktop shortcut or from your Lucid Home page.  Please let us know if you have any questions about this!

Thanks but I tried that based on Emma's reply.

Here's what works for me:

  • Open the magic link. (BTW can't set this as a favorite in the browser need to use the direct link)

  • Then open a doc using the desktop shortcut. (This opens a new browser instance.)

  • Can now close the magic link open other documents.

As long any one document (or the magic link) remains open other documents work fine.

When no document remains open the magic-link remnant is removed from the OS and further documents revert to sticky-note functionality.

Now that I read Emma's reply again this is likely what she said and I just didn't understand.

Emma thanks for your help. It's terrific that someone actually reads (and replies to) user's comments. A shout-out to Lucid management !
