Hello Lucidchart Community,

I have recently designed an Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) using Lucidchart and encountered a challenge that could be addressed with a new feature. Currently, there is no direct way to document the meaning of each table and column within the ERD in a connected or integrated manner. This feature would be incredibly beneficial for users who need to provide detailed explanations or notes about their database schema directly within the diagram.

I contacted Lucidchart's support team and learned that this functionality is unavailable. So, I am proposing the development of a feature that allows for integrating a data dictionary with ERDs. This feature would enable users to easily document the meaning/description of each column and table in their ERD.

Such a feature would significantly enhance the usefulness of ERDs in Lucidchart, especially for complex databases where column names might not be self-explanatory. It would also facilitate better communication among team members and ensure everyone clearly understands the database structure and contents.

I believe this feature could be a game-changer for many professionals working with ERDs. I would greatly appreciate the community's support in bringing this idea to the attention of Lucidchart's product development team.

Thank you for considering this proposal. I am looking forward to any thoughts or additional suggestions from the community.

Best wishes,

Cristian Riccio
