I noticed today that Lucid Cards have now a new field called T-Shirt Size. Is there a way to convert all of my old cards to the new one?

August 2, 2024

@Simon H102 we just released a backwards compatibility updater which was able to catch most Lucid cards in most conditions and give them the t-shirt size field.  There are some old edge cases we will need to work out as well, but I hope this was able to help you and your use case.  Let me know one way or the other.  Cheers!

Hi Simon, good question!  The short answer is no.  Unfortunately there isn’t a way to convert your old cards to the new card that has the t-shirt size field.  You’d have to add a new card to your document and then paste over all the details.

My team recently built that feature and we’ve been looking into a way to see if we can do a “backwards compatibility updater” and convert all old cards to the new cards automatically.  Not sure if / when we will be able to, but I should know better in the next 2 weeks or so.  If we start this work I’ll reach back out and let you know.

Also, if you have a minute, I’m curious to know.  What types of tasks/projects do your cards represent?  And how does t-shirt sizing support your use case or workflow?

We are currently using Lucid cards to do PI planning and visually lay out a roadmap for our future development work. We plan to use the T-shirt sizes to better estimate our quarterly work capacity to better map out future work and timeline.

Hi @Simon H102, thanks for posting in the community and @Adam E for the detailed response!

Since this is not currently supported in Lucid, I’ve gone ahead and converted this post to an idea so that it’s visible to others within the Product Feedback section of the community - from here, they can upvote it and add details of their own.

Finally, for more information on how Lucid manages feedback via this community, take a look at this post:

Thank you for sharing your feedback and details about your use-case. Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions!
