A newbie question: Some mind map software allows me to save my mind map as an outline rather than a map. I use those outlines as the basis for my teaching notes. Does Lucidchart have a way of saving mind maps as an outline? If yes, please offer instructions of how to do this? Thanks much!

The way I interpreted your question would be to convert your board to a template to work from going forward. To do that you go to file and then “convert to template”. See my screenshot below, and let me know if that is not what you meant.

Can you help me understand the difference between a template and an outline? That might help me better understand how to assist you.
+1Use Xmind as an example. Whenever you create a mind map in Xmind, you are able to view the content in two ways: as a mind map with connectors, nodes, etc.; and as an outline where the nodes, connectors, etc are depicted in an outline format (i.e., IA1a and so forth). I want to know if Lucidchart has this capability. I’m at a loss as to how to be clearer.

Thank you for explaining that, it was helpful for me to realize what you were saying. I did some checking around, and we do not currently offer that functionality. I had this post converted into an idea so that we can others who have a similar request to upvote as well. In addition, I will share this feedback internally with the team that owns the mindmap feature.
