We have enabled SCIM within our environment. We want all requests for a new user or updated license to go through our standard request process, which includes requesting manager approval. We have turned off the auto license settings and created a custom message for users directing them to use our service catalog. It would be nice to be able to disable the “Request License” button, so a request wasn’t submitted to the Lucid admin for them just to deny because it is not part of the approval process.

Hi, thanks for this idea! We encourage anyone else who’s interested in this to upvote this post and share any additional details about your use case or what you’d like to see in this experience. Our reasons for also wanting this feature disabled are identical to the OP. We never ever would approve a request via this method.

I have managed multiple SaaS at multiple Enterprise level companies, and disabled this feature in every portal I could for the exact same reason as stated here. This is rarely a feature I want enabled in an Enterprise environment.

The existence of the feature is confusing to users and an unnecessary administrative overhead for IT.

Hi @jpaine, I appreciate the context you’ve added to this thread and understand the impact the current experience has on your workflow.

As a workaround in the meantime, I want to make sure you’re aware of the ability to customize the license request dialogue that your end users see and redirect them to another internal system (ServiceNow, a mailto link, etc.) Find more information on this in the Lucid admin panel: License settings article from our help center.

Please make this an option in the admin portal.  We also have SCIM and it causes issues with our provisioning when they are able to request through the app.  Thank you!

Hi @KatieSW, thank you for adding to this thread with your additional feedback. I can certainly understand how this would be beneficial.

Hello Lucid,

As per the stated above from other colleagues, that indeed is the case, causing confusion both among users and administrators.

A simple button, to be able to turn off and on requests by users, will help clear out a lot of issues.

Kind regards,

Boris
