We are excited to share an update to our AI functionality today.

We have released our newest Process Agent (beta)! 🎉

It can be found within the Lucid AI panel and provides a guided experience to creating process documentation. We are excited to see how you will use this agent to assist in capturing your processes. Please share your feedback on this experience here in this thread.

Here are some discussion topics to kick things off! ⤵️

Questions:

  • How do you imagine using the process agent in your workflow?
  • What is one specific capability you’d like to see added?
  • Which part of the process do you find yourself manually ‘tweaking’?

Finish the sentence:

  • The process agent helped me to build [insert your use case]
  • I tried using the process agent for [insert your use case] but I ran into trouble when it came to [insert your pain point]

We are excited about this new offering and can’t wait to hear about how you and your teams are leveraging it!

Hi there,

We are looking to use the ‘Diagram with AI’ functionality to convert the text of existing Narratives or Process documents to Flow charts for ease of comprehension.  My concern is the AI feature and it’s source.  Is this feature ‘open’ or ‘closed’ source AI?

Hi Krista!

Your inputs are only used to generate the response during the session. None of the information shared to the agent is stored or used to train the agent.

Happy to share more information if you would like!

I wrote it on other post, so will just copy here as well as I think it can be useful:
I was wondering if it would be possible to have agent as more active BPMN process builder/checker.
There are some scenarios when the BPMNs are already existing and it could be good to have the checker aligned with recent 2.0 standard.

Another feature which was discussed on the call today - customization of the pools as I tried various prompt formats and it didn’t work.

In my opinion it could be good to have not only generation, but also work with existing charts more efficient with help of AI, and there is a big opportunity to have standards check as well as suggestions based on those rules.

Hi Viktor,

Thanks for your feedback!

We agree, there is an opportunity for BPMN guided creation & editing within the Process Agent and our diagram generation tools. This is a capability we’re exploring, and your feedback is very helpful in shaping where we invest next!

Regarding customization of the pools, we are actively focusing on improving our editing capabilities that should make this possible.

I’ve been experimenting with Lucid AI and Process Agent and like a lot of what I see.

1) One key shortocming so far: is the agent’s apparent inability to use anything other than Process and Decision shapes in flowcharts and swimlane diagrams. I’ve tried to convince it to do so at least six times. It clearly recognizes which shapes represent those objects based on how it labels them, but after it recreates the diagram in response to my request to use the Document shape, it says things like:

Done — the document-related callouts in the Hiring Request to Offer Acceptance diagram now use the flowchart Document symbol.

However, the diagram still contains Process shapes instead of Document shapes. I’ve made the same request for shapes that represent Databases and Subprocesses with the same failed result.

2) Whether I use the Process Agent or not, the Process shapes in diagrams created from narrative text are inexplicably different, often wildly divergent sizes. Some of the difference may be accounted for by the length of the contained text, but in my diagrams they could easily be a uniform size. Suggestion: The first rule of sizing should always be to use the same size as the out-of-the-library shape unless the contained text truly won’t fit.

3) Minor, I suppose, but very annoying: if the agent has created a diagram on which I make subsequent changes, then undo those changes… pressing CTRL+Z one too many times removes the diagram from the canvas! Granted, I can ask that the agent recreate it, but I strongly prefer that there be a warning or confirmation before the diagram is deleted.

4) I had the agent create a swimlane diagram for a process, then I requested a flowchart version of the same process. I was pretty specific about wanting both:

I would also like a flowchart version -- no swimlanes. Please create one and drop it in a separate frame on the canvas.

However, when the agent dropped the flowchart onto the page, it deleted the swimlane version! And that’s despite the agent telling me:

Added a separate no-swimlanes flowchart for the Hiring Request to Offer Acceptance process in its own frame on the canvas.

I have a request: I’m delivering a live-demo session titled “AI-Assisted Process Mapping” at an international conference in three weeks. Having just watched Bear and Birch deliver a webcast on this subject, I would really appreciate having a conversation with Birch before the event, preferably this week or next. If he can contact me at my registered email address that would be wonderful.
