Hey Lucid users -- if Real-Time Collaboration isn't working how you would expect there are some specific things worth trying:

  • Refreshing your document often clears up performance issues. Please start by trying this.

  • Very large freehand drawings may slow Lucidspark down. If your collaboration is lagging we would recommend limiting the number of freehand drawings on your document.

  • If you have many collaborators in your document turning off collaborator cursors may decrease latency and improve performance.

  • Sometimes taking a break can give the program a moment to catch up. Please have all collaborators stop editing for 60 seconds. When you resume the performance will often improve.

  • Lucidspark is optimized for working with up to 100 active collaborators. If you have more than 100 active collaborators on your document you may experience performance issues.

  • Please try it again in a private or incognito window. This often improves performance by clearing your cache and cookies and disabling your extensions.

  • Lucidspark is optimized for Google Chrome so if you haven't already please try the feature in that browser to see if it resolves the issue.

  • Would you mind connecting to a different network or disconnecting from your VPN (if applicable) to rule out any connection or security issues?

If the issue persists give us a heads up by sending the following information:

  • A screenshot or screen capture of the issue and any error messages or pop-ups that you are getting

  • A screenshot of the associated Javascript Console output after reproducing the issue. You can open your Javascript Console by pressing Ctrl+Shift+J (if your computer is a Windows/Linux) OR Cmd+Opt+J (if your computer is a Mac)
