A recent update to the Alternate Row Shading function for ERDs has broken the shading for existing ERD charts. This is a significant issue for me as I have more than 45 very large ERD containing more than 4,000 tables that have been impacted by this.

I’d like to but that form does not allow me to post. I will have to try something else.

Hi @blehnig

It sounds like the issue may have been related to browser cache or cookie settings, which can occasionally interfere with authentication and access to Lucid’s support portal.

Here are a few steps that may help resolve this issue:

  1. Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try accessing the link again.

  2. Ensure you're logged into your Lucid account before opening the support page.

  3. Try using a different browser or network, especially if there are firewall or VPN restrictions in place.

  4. Use incognito/private browsing mode.

Please let me know if this helps.

Hi @blehnig, thank you for posting in the community! Just to confirm, did your ERD used to have alternate row shading, but now it's not showing in your diagram?

If that is not the case, would you mind providing me with the following information so I can take a closer look?

  • A description of steps you took leading up to the issue.
  • Can you please send a temporary Support PIN for this document? This will allow me to take a closer look at the issue you’re experiencing. For more information on generating a Support PIN, check out this Help Center article.

I appreciate your help and patience! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi @Leianne C . Thanks for getting back. Yes. All my ERDs use alternating Row Shading. I haven’t manually inspected all 4,600+ tables in 48 ERD charts but the ones that I have checked show that many of the tables have stopped showing the row shading even though the option is selected. (There do seems to be a handful of tables that have retained the shading. I wonder if there might be a correlation with how old the table is. I am not sure.)

I have tried to view these in different browsers types, and have check to make sure everything is updated to the most recent version.

Here is a temporary Support PIN for the ERD referenced in my attached image files: duTmwHj761J8e71846771

Please let me know what other information you may need.

Brooks L

Hi @blehnig, thank you for sharing that information and the document PIN. It looks like the alternating row shading is now appearing in this specific ERD document. Did you manually update the shading on your end? If not, would you mind confirming if it’s appearing correctly now on your end too?

If you have any tables that are not appearing correctly, could you please try changing the colour of the shading? Please let me know if you see any changes. This might help reset the option and bring the shading back in the meantime.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions!

@Leianne C , thanks for the update. I did not update anything on my end, but they all seem to be appearing correctly now. Thanks for you help.

Regards,

Brooks L

Thanks for the update, @blehnig! Glad to hear everything is appearing correctly now. Please let us know if you notice the issue again and we’ll be happy to take a closer look. Cheers!
