Have you had a chance to check out Lucid’s new feature: Visual Activities?  It’s a perfect tool to support formative assessment.  It allows you to gather data during a lesson in order to make data based decisions about your future instruction.  Here are a few resources to see how it works: Quick Video Highlights and Templates.  Share how you use visual activities for formative assessment.

I have been playing with the visual activities and I am LOVING how the category activities arranges the data.  It makes it so easy for me to analyze my classes performance and determine when I need to reteach and who I should call for interventions.  Here is the template I used to create my activity and below is an example of the data from an activity I used while we were reading the Harry Potter series.

Hi @ashley t101! As a Harry Potter fan and former teacher I LOVE THIS! Visual activities is an awesome way to do a check for understanding. Thanks for sharing this amazing idea 💡

I have been administering the Delta Math 5th Grade Readiness Screener to identify students who may need extra help. I turned most of the components into visual activities and made it so much fun for the students. They're eager to show me what they know and can't wait to come back for more small group math work this year!

Hi Shira

Thanks for posting this awesome example! I used to teach fourth grade math and comparing fractions is always tricky -- what a great way to use Visual Activities to check for understanding! Please let us know if you have feedback for us or any other new ideas on how to use our products to support student learning 🎉

I'm not very good at remembering to do a pre-assessment but since this is the start of the year and I'm starting a unit that relies on multiplication facts I need to know which sided dice my kids can handle for the opening math game (multiplication facts to 6s or can I give them higher numbered dice).  I created a quick math visual activity to see what they know!
