Video: Val shares how she uses Lucid to analysis and compare text with students
Detailed Walkthrough:
In this example, Val used Lucidspark to help students conduct a lateral reading activity comparing two articles written about the same event, but from two different sources writing from two very different perspectives. Throughout the process students are evaluating the credibility of each source. This allows students to get a more rounded and accurate perspective than just relying on one source.
Val started by adding the documents to the board. (how to embed PDFs onto the Canvas)
Then, sent it out to students so they each got their own copy to work on using Canvas. If you don’t have Canvas, then you can use the force copy method to get each student their own copy.
Now that the students have their own copy, they read through each article and start digging into the comparison right away by highlighting and adding stickies onto the Lucidspark board.
Once they are done with their initial comparison, they can use one of Lucid’s comparison charts to summarize and deepen their analysis.
