Video: How I encourage teamwork and reinforce key concepts with Jeopardy-style review games
Detailed Walkthrough
Hello, my name is Kayla Lee, and I am a Dental Assistant Instructor at Northwest Career College. I’ve been teaching for the past three years and currently instruct all modules from 101 through 107.
As students prepare to transition into their externships, dental offices have high expectations. One of the top priorities is for students to have a solid understanding of dental procedures—including the steps involved, instrument names and functions, and post-operative instructions. Knowledge in these areas is essential to becoming a well-rounded dental assistant.
To help reinforce these concepts, I created an interactive, Jeopardy-style review game covering a range of topics students are required to master. Students begin the game with a coin toss, and teams take turns selecting clues until all have been uncovered. While scores are tracked, the real reward is the learning—everyone leaves a winner.
