Video: How to use visual activities for peer-coach grouping
Detailed Walkthrough
Students often excel in different areas and peer coaching allows students to share their expertise and strengths with each other. Peer coaching has many benefits such as increased confidence, improved retention, and fosters collaboration and belonging. Morgan uses student input from a Lucid visual activity to determine his peer coaching groups. He starts by sending out the visual activity for students to complete.
Then, students drag the pieces or topics onto the continuum to mark what they are most and least confident in.
Lastly, he uses the responses to pair up students. Each student is paired with someone who needs more help with something they excel at and and vice versa. This allows the students to take on both the expert and learner role in their partnership.
