Video: How I help students learn DAA ADA codes

Hello Everyone,

My name is Ellesa Reynada and I am a Dental Assisting Instructor at Northwest Career College. I have been an instructor since 2017 and I currently teach Dental Assisting and Dental Administrative Assisting. I use Lucid for both courses in a variety of ways as both courses are 9 months long. When I am teaching a basic class, I will use Lucid to break down key terms, tray set ups, and procedure steps. As I get in the more advanced classes, I will use Lucid to gauge the student’s retention with advanced versions.

Lucid has been so fun to use in my Dental Administrative course because something like ADA codes can be confusing and complex. I created a map diagram with the different categories and then included the more common codes. By using the map diagram, I can zoom in and focus on one category at a time and then allow the students to input the codes specifically so it is more lucid.

I love how clearly this lays out the different codes.  Color coding for the win!  Thanks for sharing
