Adding an image is missing in Canvas

I created a Lucidspark board to use as an introductory activity in my course (I used a template provided from the Lucid newsletter).

When I open the board in Lucid, I see the full toolbar menu with option to add an image.

I embedded the board in a Canvas page using the rich content editor. When I access the board via Canvas, the toolbar is missing several features and one of the GIFs added by a student is not displaying (it displays properly in Lucid as seen in the image above).

I have cleared my cache and cookies and the board share settings are set to allow any logged in user with the link to edit the board.

The first official day of my course is tomorrow (8-14-25) so I would love to get this mystery solved.

Hey @klmueller702! The toolbar in Canvas is streamlined to reduce distraction for students. This doesn’t mean they don’t have access to the entire Lucid toolbar, they just need to open Lucid in a new tab using the shortcut icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Lucid document in Canvas. Anything they add to the document outside of Canvas will also reflect in Canvas since it is the same document.

Hey @klmueller702! The toolbar in Canvas is streamlined to reduce distraction for students. This doesn’t mean they don’t have access to the entire Lucid toolbar, they just need to open Lucid in a new tab using the shortcut icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Lucid document in Canvas. Anything they add to the document outside of Canvas will also reflect in Canvas since it is the same document.
