Subject: Feature Request: Official Ubiquiti UniFi Icon Library (Switches, APs, Bridges, etc.)

Hello Lucid Team and Community,

I'm writing to enthusiastically request the addition of an official, Lucid-maintained icon library for the Ubiquiti UniFi hardware ecosystem.

The Problem: Real-World Networks are Multi-Vendor

For many IT professionals, MSPs, and network administrators, Lucid is the go-to platform for creating clean, professional, and accurate network topology diagrams. We rely on it to document complex environments.

A significant portion of modern networks, especially in the SMB and prosumer space, heavily utilize Ubiquiti UniFi equipment. However, there is currently no official, high-quality icon set for this hardware within Lucid.

Why Ubiquiti's Own Tools Aren't the Answer

While Ubiquiti does offer its own network topology and design tools (like the UniFi Design Center), they operate in a "walled garden." They are locked down to Ubiquiti equipment only.

This is a critical limitation. Our networks are not single-vendor. We manage environments that have a mix of Ubiquiti APs and switches, alongside Cisco routers, Dell servers, Palo Alto firewalls, and other third-party hardware. Ubiquiti's tools make it impossible to create a holistic diagram that shows how all these components interact.

This is precisely why we use Lucid—it's vendor-agnostic and allows us to document our entire infrastructure.

The Current Workaround (and its flaws)

Right now, we are forced to:

  1. Use other diagramming tools such as Visio, Miro etc;

  2. Use the generic block icons, which makes diagrams less readable and unprofessional.

  3. Hunt for community-created custom icon sets. These are often incomplete, low-resolution, inconsistent, and quickly become outdated as Ubiquiti releases new hardware.

The Request: An Official, Maintained Library

We would be immensely grateful if Lucid could provide an official shape library for the UniFi ecosystem. This would be a massive quality-of-life improvement.

This library should ideally include:

  • Access Points (e.g., U6/U7 series, Pro, LR, Mesh, In-Wall)

  • Switches (e.g., Standard, PoE, Pro, Enterprise, Aggregation)

  • Gateways/Routers (e.g., UDM-Pro, UDM-SE, UXG-Pro)

  • Controllers (e.g., Cloud Key G2, UCK-Enterprise)

  • Wireless Bridges (e.g., Building-to-Building Bridge, AirMax/AirFiber)

  • Other Ecosystems (e.g., UniFi Protect cameras, NVRs, UniFi Access)

Why This Benefits Lucid

The Ubiquiti footprint is massive and growing. By adding an official icon set, Lucid would solidify its position as the undisputed best-in-class tool for all network documentation, especially for multi-vendor environments. You would be directly serving a huge, dedicated segment of your IT professional user base.

Thank you for your consideration! This feature would be incredibly valuable.

I would like to second this request. Ubiquiti is a major vendor whose equipment commonly comes up in our diagrams. Having a professional and maintained icon set would be a major improvement.

Thanks for the information and support Ambar. I would love to join the Legends program but unfortunately just do not have the time. I use Visio and MindMap mostly along with Autocad but had a very specific use case for Lucid for a team who need it, however the lack of Ubiquiti/ UniFi stencils etc has put this decision on hold and they have gone with draw.io

Thanks again - I will follow this request / suggestion thread with interest
