I was testing the new free Lucid integration in Canvas, in our beta environment. I noticed that it’s not really fully integrated as far as course copies.

For example, if you have an embedded whiteboard on a page, and you copy that course to another teacher, the other teacher just sees this in their copy of the course because they do not own the whiteboard:

similarly for assignments, it technically works a little better, walking the new teacher through requesting access from the owner, but this should be automatic. Permissions for lucidchart/spark boards should mirror the canvas permissions. If a teacher is added or a course copied to a new teacher, or a whiteboard copied from one course to another, it should handle it on the lucid side automatically.

I am the owner of the charts and full admin for the courses and not even I can use an embedded lucidchart embedded in a course copy. This makes the tool useless for our use case for online courses, where the core curriculum must be built once and then copied many times.  Please make sure that embedded lucidcharts (on pages) will function when the course is copied to the term site. Otherwise, it’s going to be useless. We don’t have the resources to manually add/adjust/embed every chart throughout every section of the course every term. These are view-only charts. Nothing fancy or complex. If there is a workaround to make this function, please make it known. Thanks.
