All businesses need to be able to insert professional, print-quality workflow images into their documents. It’s been over 3 years, and there is still no improvement in the resolution of Lucidchart diagram images that are inserted into Google documents. The resulting image quality are very poor and unprofessional in appearance (i.e., fuzzy text and fuzzy, inconsistent line widths). With kind respect, the only conclusion one can draw is that the Lucidchart Developers are choosing to ignore this very basic of requests. I have tried importing Lucidchart diagrams directly into Google, as well as exporting diagrams to each of the available file formats (jpeg, png, svg, etc.), and inserting the resulting images into Google. In each case, there are resolution issues - note, for some reason, the svg image option exports to html rather than to a downloadable file.

“Due to limitations of Google's system, diagrams inserted into Docs/Sheets/Slides will sometimes be blurry. This is exacerbated when the diagram is especially large (in dimensions). The root cause is twofold:
- Google only allows us to insert raster images, not vector images. Regardless of the resolution, all rasterized images will eventually become blurry if you enlarge them enough.
- Due to performance concerns, we only allow users to generate raster images up to 2000 px wide. This is a universal restriction in Lucidchart and is not limited to our Google Docs/Sheets/Slides integrations. Any time a user exports their diagram as a .png or .jpg, they will face the same restriction.
- Google's API has limitations on image size that we don't fully understand. Due to this, our integrations have to generate images smaller than 2000 px because Google's API would simply always reject images that are this large. We found a size that is small, but seems to be as large as 90% of documents can go (around 600 px). There are some implications of this: a) some documents may still get rejected by Google's API, and there is no current workaround because we don't attempt to submit smaller resolutions when an image fails, and b) documents that do succeed are generally on the small side when inserted into Google Docs/Sheets/Slides. This is less noticeable in Docs because Docs pages tend to not be very wide, but it is very noticeable in Sheets and Slides.”
