Just what I wrote in the title.

When importing data as a smart table it would be great to be able to have lines snap to the center of any given "row" of the smart table shape. This would allow for linking between table rows/columns and other elements of the diagram with better precision even as the table changes shape and size.

Hi @victor a thanks for posting in the community! We appreciate your feedback on how we can improve Smart Tables in Lucidchart! I passed your feature request to our product team for their consideration.

If you or anyone else would like to add your voice to the request the best way is by submitting your ideas to our feature request form? The more requests we receive the more likely this is to be prioritized by our Product Development team!

Thanks for your request and I apologize for any inconvenience this causes you.

Just came looking for this, with a 2 years on going doesn’t look like it will be soon available.

For your consideration already chose Lucid, from all major diagram platforms, as it was the one that made it possible and simpler so more efficient to work with Table oriented objects, which I found weird that it was so lacking in general, and unfortunately the 2 issues I have with it are just:

  1. Lines are snapped only to relative with or height of the whole table, not the rows or columns, and get misaligned whenever a row or column is added.
  2. Text inside a cell can’t be just clipped, and will always overlap others unless we expand cell size or re-arange text like muit-line, or just manually ellipse the text.

Hi, thanks for the additional feedback! We encourage anyone else who’s interested in this to upvote this post and share any additional details about your use case or what you’d like to see in this experience.
