Drag and drop issues from Jira

We use Spark boards for sprint planning, using the Jira integration together with the Story point bank tool.

Generally I can set things up by using JQL queries to add sets of cards, but it gets awkward if someone brings up an issue that should be added during the call. Frequently, I do JQL queries like key = ABC123 just to add a single ticket.

I have tried dragging and dropping links from Jira into our Spark board, but that just turns into a text object.

It would be nice if the Lucidspark board would detect that a dropped link goes to our Jira instance, and in that case converts the object to a Jira card.

If it was possible to also drag selected groups of issues from a Jira backlog page that would be even better, but I understand if that’s more technically difficult. To start with just converting dropped simple links would help a lot.

We actually do have this feature. If you copy the link to the Jira issue and paste it into a Lucidspark board where you’ve set up the Jira integration, it should paste as a Jira card, not just a link. I may not be understanding your question though, so let me know if there’s something else I should know here.

Thanks, I didn’t notice that and that will help a lot.

I still think it would be an improvement if you could handle drag-and-drop events of links the same way, but this makes that a lot less urgent.

Can you explain more of what you mean? What would you be dragging and dropping?

Screencast From 2025-05-09 18-40-36 ← I made a video to illustrate. In the video I first drag a ticket link from Jira into Confluence Whiteboard, which works as I’d expect, then switch to a Lucidspark board and try the same thing, and as you see instead of converting it to a card it becomes a text link.

Ahhhh I see what you mean. I’ll pass this along to the team. Thank you!

Hi @bnl, another thing you might find useful is to set up a Dynamic Table with an automatic JQL query sync so that new issues matching your query will automatically get imported into your board. See this help center article for more details. Hope this helps!
