Detailed Walkthrough
Jessica has found that students are often overwhelmed when faced with writing an essay and don’t know how or where to start. By setting up a brainstorming template in Lucidspark, Jessica is able to break down the writing process into simple easy to follow steps. The sticky notes feature allows for quick, informal brainstorming that feels less daunting to students.

Jessica sends the brainstorming template to each of her students using the “Lucid” submission type in Canvas and then she can review and provide feedback through Canvas Speedgrader.  If you don’t have access to Canvas you can send templates out through Google Classroom or by making a force-copy link to your students.

Thank you for the template!  I am integrating a stronger focus on writing this year, so seeing your template will help me with mine.  It’s nice to see how you helped them outline their thoughts to get to the writing aspect with more support!

Jessica, your approach to helping students with persuasive writing is inspiring. It's a great example of how breaking down a large task into smaller, manageable steps can make a big difference for students. It makes me want to explore how I can use similar strategies to help my students iterate in my own classes.
