Hi fellow Educators!

I attended an internal training and witnessed the typical “Breakout Bolt...” you know, when students go into breakout discussions in Zoom (or similar tech) and a smaller amount come back because many chose to just leave the training.

This reminded me of some practices I shared in this video recently, reminding folks to make activities clear with visible spaces to fill in, among other tips.

What other tips do you have for making sure breakouts are effective and students don’t leave?

What a great idea!  With a whiteboard for the students to layout their groups thinking, I will be able to see what they were working on after they are done with their group discussion.  A template also gives them a starting place to kickstart a more engaging discussion.  Thanks for sharing!
