I have created a custom shape by grouping together a triangle, a circle and 2 lines to form a tri-state buffer. However, it does now appear correctly in the library after adding it, and I can’t use the shape after it was added. Am I missing a step?

Hi @jlynchbrcm

If your custom shape isn’t appearing, first make sure the library is enabled in your Shape Manager.

Shape libraries in Lucidchart – Lucid This Lucid support article explains how to do that.
If it’s still not working after that, double-check that your shape was grouped properly before adding it.

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!

Hi @jlynchbrcm, thanks for posting in the Lucid Community! Sorry that you’re encountering trouble with this. I believe you may be encountering a bug, and I’m raising this with our development team, but I’d like to confirm a few things first to be sure.

  1. You mention that you’re unable to use the shape after adding it. Are you unable to drag the shape onto the canvas from the shape library?
  2. Would you mind providing a screenshot of the issue you’re seeing in your document/shapes library menu?
  3. Can you try the following two items and confirm whether they solve the problem?
    • Trying this again in a private or incognito window. For help with opening an incognito window, please see this community post.
    • Connecting to a different network or disconnecting from your VPN (if applicable)

Additionally, can you please send a temporary Support PIN for this document? This will allow me to take a closer look at the issue you’re experiencing. For more information on generating a Support PIN, check out this Help Center article. This PIN is only accessible by members of the Lucid support staff, so you can safely share this PIN in this thread.

Thank you for your help and patience here, thank you @Humas1985 for your help here too!
